A little becomes a lot

With time, a little becomes a lot...

“I know a group of people who used to gather with one of the people of knowledge every Monday. They would read half a page from the Qurʾān to him, and he would explain to them the meanings of the āyahs and what they indicate.

Years passed, and one of them said to me: ‘We memorised more than half of the Qurʾān.’ This was after around 15 years.

So a small amount, even two āyahs a day — and in a year there are 360 days — will amount to a lot: around 720 āyahs in a year.

With time, a little becomes a lot. And the most beloved deeds to Allāh are those done consistently, even if they are few.”

Shaykh ʿAbd al-Razzāq al-Badr

The same is true for studies in the Arabic language.
